It’s official…We’re moving to the Washington, DC area sometime around the July or August time frame. My wife’s job is the reason for the move but I’m happy (and very excited) no matter the reason for the move. Politics in Indianapolis are driving me absolutely crazy and to be honest, I don’t know how much more I can take. The Republican leadership in this state is driving it (and its residents) back to the stone ages when dinosaurs roamed the earth. They (Republicans) simply don’t care about the residents of this state and for some reason, the residents of this state are dumb enough to continue to vote these idiots into office. Hoosiers must love punishment because that’s exactly what they have been receiving for years. And to add to the political madness, Indiana now has the most unemployed in the country. The bad numbers can be blamed on the current Republican leadership. Of course, Hoosier Republicans will say it’s not the Governor’s fault but how can it not be?
Another reason for the move excitement is that my Linux and Unix freelance work will “probably” do much better in the DC area. There’s no guarantee, of course, but it can’t get much worse than here in Indianapolis. Over the years, I’ve found that Indianapolis is an IT dead zone and it doesn’t seem to be getting much better.
Wait…Did I say I’m glad to be moving away from Indiana because the politics are driving me crazy? Well, why not just move to the hub of crazy politics? :-)
